Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University condoles the tragic demise of Dr. C.Gopakumar, Senior Veterinary Surgeon who was trampled to death by a captive elephant in musth while he was trying to tranquilize it at Vaipur near Mullappally, Pathanamthitta district on 11th January 2015. Dr.Gopakumar is an alumni of 1987 batch of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and is a committed leader of the elephant squad in Pathanamthitta.Elephants were always his passion and he was the Consultant Veterinarian of Travancore Devaswom Board. He belongs to Karunagappally and is survived by wife Bindu Lakshmi(Professor, Trivandrum Homeo college) and daughter Gopika who is a Plus One student. Vice Chancellor,Officers,faculty members, staff and students of KVASU condoled the sad demise of Dr.Gopakumar. Cremation was held at Karunagappally at 3 PM on 12th January 2015.
