Kerala will achieve self sufficiency in Milk production within two years, Says Hon'ble Chief Minister  Sri. Ommen Chandy. CM made this statement during the inauguration of State level Dairy Farmers meet organised by Dairy Development Department at Manikkadavu, Kannur on 23rd February 2015. Dairy farmers should take this taget as a challenge to attain self sufficiency in Dairying, CM added. Minister for Culture and Dairying Sr.K.C.Joseph presided over the function. Minister for Agriculture and  Animal Husbandry Sri.K.P.Mohanan inaugurated te Dairy workshop and information kiosk on 22nd February 2015. Sri. Sunny Joseph MLA, Milma Chairman Sri.P.T.Gopalakurup and Director, Dairy Development Smt.K.T.Sarojini were aming the few dignitaries who offered felicitations. Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University presented a paper on sustainable Dairy production. Dr.Gigin, Asst Professor, KVK, Kannur presented a paper on traditional knowledge in Dairying.Around 10000 dairy farmmers participated in the two day event
