24Indian Council of Agriculure Research and The University of Edinburgh signed an MOU for mutual collaboration in the areas of Academics and Research. MOU was signed between the two institutions on 16th February 2015 at NASC Complex, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. Secretary DARE and Director General, ICAR Dr.S.Ayyappan presided over the function. Prof. James Smith, Vice Principal International UNiversity of Edinburgh, UK was the Chief guest.Dy. Director General( Animal Science), ICAR Dr.K.M.LPathak, Addl. Secretary Sri. R.Rajagopal and Prof. Natalie Waran, Associate Dean, Royal(Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh addressed the delegates. Asst Director General Dr.Alok Jha welcomed the delegates and Principal Scientist Dr.Jyoti Misri expressed vote of thanks. As part of the function two day international workshop on Production Animal Health and Welfare research-Impact and opportunities held at NASC cOmplex frm 16th to 17th February 2015.It was jointly organised by ICAR and The University of Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary studies and Roslin Institute. Senior faculty members from University of Edinburgh and ICAR institutes presented papers in the Workshop. A focus group discussion on International collaboration and funding support was held. Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship of KVASU participated in the focus group disciussion and international workshop at New Delhi.This MOU paves way for ICAR institutions for undetaking research in appropriates areas with University of Edinburgh.
