AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD AS PART OF WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY@ MANNUTHY

In occasion with World No Tobacco Day 2015, NSS units and Students’ Union of CVAS Mannuthy along with Community Health Centre Vellanikkara conducted an awareness programme “Thiricharivu” with the motto ‘STOP ILLICIT TRADE OF TOBACCO PRODUCT’ on May 31, 2015 at the CVAS, Mannuthy. The progamme was presided by Mrs Jayasree Bhaskaran, Councilor, Trichur Corporation and inaugurated by Hon: MLA M.P.Vincent. The anti tobacco day message was given by Dr K Anilkumar, Associate Dean, CVAS Mannuthy. Dr C B Manomohan, Dr Bindu Mathew, Sri P Arunkumar, Kum Resmi felicited the programme. Dr Subraminian Psychiatrist, Department of Health took a class on tobacco and relted aspects and Sri Umesh, CI of Police spoke on laws and tobacco. Poster, painting and cartoon competitions were conducted for the students. For the school students a Quiz competition and cartoon competition was conducted. The prozes were given away by Dr Mayadevi, Superindents PHC Vellanikkara. The public rally on antitobacco campaign was flagged off by Dr C B manomohan, Professor and coordinator of NSS unit. Mannuthy. A public awareness class was conducted at Mannuthy.
