College of Dairy Science and Technology celebrated World Environment Day 2015

The Students Union of the College of Dairy Science and Technology in association with Centre for Animal Adaptation to Environment and Climate Change Studies (CAADECCS) celebrated World Environment Day. The programme organized at the KVASU Dairy Plant was inaugurated by Sri. Madambu Kunjikuttan, renowned malayalam author and screenplay writer. Mr. Vadakkumpattu Narayanan, Vedic scholar and teacher gave the key note address. Dr. G. Girish Varma, Dean of the Faculty of Dairy Sciences presided over the function and also released the yearly report of the College of Dairy Science and Technology. Environment oath was taken and tree saplings were planted and also distributed to the students. Primary school students from nearby schools of Mannuthy participated in the programme. A live demonstration of pottery making was exhibited. In the Seminar Dr. GSLHV Prasada Rao and Mr. Sasikumar Palliyil made the presentations related to environmental issues. Film on environment was shown. Dr. P.I. Geevarghese, Professor felicitated the function. Mr. Shyam Suraj S.R. welcomed the gathering and Mr. Aswin.S.Warrier gave the vote of thanks. The programme received financial assistance from Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment ( KSCSTE).
