11Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University bagged the National Award for excellence in Education among the category of best performing educational institutions in the country. This is the first award instituted by Emerging Kerala, Education Insider and DC Media. KVASU has been selected based on some of the benchmarks like student enrolment, new courses, technology enabled distance learning programme (MOOC), e-Governance, IT initiatives, Entrepreneurship, employability, international collaboration and other academic and research initiatives. Director of Entrepreneurship of KVASU Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan received the award from Sri.Ravi.DC, CEO, DC Media for the University at a National educational Conclave-Educon-2015 held at Kochi on 10th June 2015. Former Chairman of ISRO Sri.G.Madhavan Nair, Vice Chancellor Technological University Sri.Kuncheria P Isaac, Vice Chancellor KVASU Dr.B.Ashok, Chairman, Higher education Council Sri.T.P.Sreenivasan, Former Vice Chancellor Central University of Kerala Dr.Jancy James, Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University Dr.Dileep Kumar, Vice Chancellor Kerala Health and Allied Sciences University Dr.V.K.C.Nair were among the few dignitaries present in the occasion. During the educational Conclave Vice Chancellor of KVASU Dr.B.Ashok delivered the keynote address. Sri.G.Madhavan Nair and Dr.V.K.C. Nair presented the topics on changing trends in professional education. Chairman, Higher education Council Sri.T.P.Sreenivasan delivered a talk on Prospective trends in higher education. Dr.Kuncheria P Issac spoke on engineering and employability trends. Educational conclave was aimed at creating awareness on higher education and the changing trends among the academicians and policy makers. As part of the function 100 meritorious students were awarded DCK Foundation scholarship of Rs 5000 each. Sri. J.Philip, IAS, MD, Kerala Financial Corporation distributed the scholarships. Around 250 delegates attended the Edu conclave.
