1. Dairy cattle-breeds, physiology –reproduction, lactation-endocrine glands, diseases
2. Milk- composition, processing , quality control, composition and methods of preparation of dairy products
3. Foods-composition, nutritive value
4. Institutions, projects and personalities related to dairy development
5. Plants-classification, physiology-photosynthesis, transport of nutrients, reproduction
6. Animal kingdom- classification, principles of inheritance and variation
7. Poultry- breeds, ailments
8. Human health and disease
9. Biodiversity and conservation, microbes in human welfare

SYLLABUS OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION -2015 FOR DIPLOMA IN LABORATORY TECHNIQUES

Diversity in living world- Structural organisation in animals and plants- Cell structure and function-Plant physiology- Human physiology- Reproduction- Genetics and evolution- Biology and Human welfare- Biotechnology and its applications- Ecology and environment.

Body parts of animals- Breeds- Identification of animals- Housing of cattle- Normal values- Organs of body- Care and management- Milk and milk products- Health care- Principles of feeding- Feeding materials- System of breeding- Manure- Rearing of pigs, poultry, goats, rabbits.

Dairy farming- Selection of dairy herds-Reproduction- Artificial insemination- Pregnancy and calving-calf rearing- Herd replacement- Feeds and feeding- Lactation- Clean milk production-Milk and milk products- Processing of milk- Common diseases- Infertility.

 

SYLLABUS OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION - 2015 FOR B.Sc. POULTRY PRODUCTION AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

1. All questions will be of multiple choice types with four options each.
2. No negative marks for wrong answers.
3. All questions will be of 10 + 2 level. The broad topics with the sample contents are given below.

Biology: Cell and its inheritance, origin and evolution of life, Animal Physiology, Ecology, Ecosystem and Environment, Applied biology, Animal Husbandry etc.
Commerce and Humanities: History – Modern, Indian Polity, Basic economics, Accounting and Business studies etc.

English: Spotting the errors, Vocabulary- synonyms, antonyms, Idioms and phrases, comprehension, sentence improvement etc.
General Knowledge: India and world - First, superlatives, currencies, capitals, famous places, books, parliaments, culture and heritage, defense, awards and honours, sports, organizations etc.

Logical reasoning: Number Series, Letter and Symbol Series, Verbal Classification, Essential Part, Analogies, Matching Definitions, Making Judgments, Verbal Reasoning, Logic Problems,
Analyzing Arguments etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: Basic mathematics to solve problems related to profit and loss, time and work, LCM and HCF, equations, decimal, fractions etc.

4. Questions may/may not deviate from the contents mentioned above but will be limited to syllabus of Kerala State Higher Secondary Education.
