The College of Dairy Science & Technology, Chettachal started functioning at the temporary campus of KELTRON Equipment Complex (2nd floor), Karakulam, Thiruvananthapuram from 14th of September, 2015. The first year B.Tech (DSc. & Tech.) regular classes commenced from 29.09.2015 with a half day long induction programme. The College Parent Teacher Association (CDSTPTA-TVM) was formed consequent to the first annual general body meeting of parents and teachers held at the campus on 29.09.2015. The programme started at 9:30 a.m. with a presentation on ‘Academic Matters of B.Tech programme’ by Smt. R.L. Beena, Asst. Professor – Dept. of Dairy Microbiology, which was followed by a presentation on ‘Campus life and Placements’ by Sri. G.R. Jayadevan, Asst. Professor – Dept. of Dairy Business Management. The Patron’s address was delivered by Special Officer, Prof. (Dr). P. Sudheer Babu. Faculty Dean, Prof. (Dr.) G. Girish Varma addressed the first annual general body meeting of the PTA.
On 7th of October, 2015 a team of higher University officers comprising of Prof. (Dr.) Joseph Mathew, the University Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) K.M. Shyam Mohan, Finance Officer and Prof. (Dr.) K. Devada, Director of Academics and Research visited the campus and could spare their valuable time to interact with the newly admitted B.Tech students. Registrar addressed the student community with his inspirational talk. He stressed the importance of food processing sector in India and advised students to venture into dairy based entrepreneurship as well. Other members in the team, Dr. K.M. Shyam Mohan and Dr. K. Devada also offered felicitations to the programme. The programme came to an end by 4:30 p.m.
