04 Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will offer one year Diploma programmes in Dairy and Poultry Entrepreneurship and six months regular programme in Commercial Dairy farming in association with Animal husbandry department and Kerala Livestock Development Board. The programmes will be started from October 2017 onwards at Kuriyottumala Cattle breeding farm of Animal Husbandry Department, Kollam, Kulathoopuzha farm of Kerala Livestock Development Board, Kollam and Thalayolaparampu LMTC of Animal Husbandry Department at Kottayam. Diploma programmes will be in technology enabled mode of two semester duration. They include Diploma in Poultry Entrepreneurship and Diploma in Dairy Entrepreneurship.
Regular programme will be an advanced certificate programme in Commercial Dairy Farming which will be launched at Kuriyottumala Cattle breeding farm of Animal Husbandry Department, Kulathoopuzha farm of Kerala Livestock Development Board and Thalayolaparampu LMTC of Animal Husbandry Department. Medium of instruction will be in Malayalam. Basic qualification is SSLC. There is no age limit for the programme. Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU will implement the programme. Candidates will get the opportunity to apply for the programme from respective farms through offline as well as through online mode from University’s website. Technology enabled programme will provide in depth study on poultry and dairy entrepreneurship including breeding, feeding, management, disease control, marketing, banking, project formulation. Advanced Certificate programme in commercial farming will be of 6 months duration and will provide hands on training and skill required for establishing a commercial dairy farm. All these courses will provide the opportunity for students from southern districts to pursue for entrepreneurship courses of KVASU in association with Animal husbandry department and other Public sector undertakings. Official inauguration of the programme will be held during the 3rd Week of August at Kuriyottumala Farm, Kollam..Last date for applying the programme is 23rd September 2017.
