Department Profile

The department started functioning as an independent Department of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode in the year 2015. Mandate of this department is advancing knowledge in statistics by teaching and Research. Department provides consultancy services to other departments in the University and also to other institutions like Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA), Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) and to Health University, Thrissur.

Teaching

· UG Programme: Offering courses for B.Sc. Paultry Production and Business Management and B.Tech. Dairy Science and Technology and also to Diploma in Dairy Sciences.

· PG Programme: Offering courses for M.V.Sc., all Ph.D programmes and also MS. In Wildlife.

Trainings condcuted

Department conducted two days colloquium on “Data Analysis using SPSS” to PG students of CVAS, Pookode in every year starting from 2016 onwards. This programme will provide practical training to students on how to use SPSS and provides an opportunity to get comfortable with the program. And so it will be helpful for them for analyzing and interpreting of the data of their project work which is a part of their curriculum.
