Profile
The department of Dairy Engineering currently holds a unique status of being the only one service provider in the field. The technical team of this department provides engineering consultancy services to the existing/emerging dairy processing firms. The services include setting up of new plants, trouble shooting, formulation and execution of R&D projects. The department looks for strengthening the services by the development of processes and generating data on engineering parameters and carrying out research on application of new and high tech food processing technologies. Through this process, it envisages scaling up of tools and techniques for the design of milk processing units and develops innovative machinery for use in the dairy industry.
Mandate
• Conduct Engineering courses in the B.Tech (DSc. & Tech.) curricula.
• Organize refresher training programmes for dairy plant personnel, small entrepreneurs, and other technical personnel in field of Dairy/Food Processing.
• Provide technical support to the dairy/food industry for processing plant design and erection.
• Render technical service to the dairy processing industry through its Consultancy Cell.
Engineering Drawing Hall
A spacious drawing hall is arranged for facilitating the practical sessions of Engineering Drawing courses in the B.Tech curricula.
