The Department of Dairy Husbandry started functioning in the year 1993. The aim of the Department is to advance and apply the knowledge on Dairy Husbandry activities for the welfare of farmer community in Kerala. It has a well set up laboratory facility including the nutritional and microbiological analysis of milk, feed and fodder. Other than handling the regular class room lectures, the faculty is well versed in demonstration and extension activities related to all aspects of dairying. The Department extends services in formulating balanced economic rations, setting up of farms and fodder units, rearing of cattle, breeding etc
