• Providing education to field veterinarians and para veterinary staff under Continuing Veterinary Education (CVE) programme
• Updating the professional knowledge of the Veterinarians about latest developments in disease diagnosis
• Routine examination of clinical samples for disease diagnosis
• Investigation of animal / poultry disease outbreaks in the state
• Development of new vaccines and technology transfer to Animal Husbandry Department
• Creating awareness among farmers in control of infectious diseases in animals
• Creating public awareness about management of outbreak of common animal and poultry diseases, among farmers through training classes, seminars, Doordarshan and All India Radio
