Extension facilities

• The department is well connected to the farmers and people associated with animal rearing. It mans the following services
• It operates a Gynaecology and Obstetric unit at the Mannuthy and Kokkalai Veterinary Hospitals run by the University.
• An Artificial Insemination Centre located at Mannuthy and Kokkalai premises, serving to the needs of cattle, buffalo and goat rearers.
• An ambulatory clinical service tending to the needs of Cherumkuzhy and Malamukku farmers
• Mobile sexual health control unit - A mobile unit dealing with infertility cases/artificial insemination services in the area surrounding the college.
• The staff routinely perform radio talks, classes for veterinarians and farmer level classes
• The department has facilities and has conducted training programmes for in service veterinarians and para veterinarians
• The staff have served as resource persons in trainings conducted by the other departments of college.

Academic Facilities
The various units of the department have the basic facilities for conducting Undergraduate (as per the norms of VCI), Post graduate and Doctorate courses (as per the norms of ICAR).
