Department Profile
The Department of Extension came into existence in 1963, though the subject of Extension was part of the curriculum right from the inception of the College in 1955. Dr. G.R. Nair was the first Head of Department. Post graduate programme was introduced in 1976 and twenty two students have been qualified for the MVSc degree so far whereas, PhD. programme in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education commenced from 2011onwards. At Under Graduate level, the department offers courses to students of Dairy Diploma and B.Tech (Dairy Science & Technology), in addition to BVSc & AH.
